Lymphoma is not the same as cancer that has metastazized to the lymph nodes. It is a blood cancer , like leukemia. Good for you for surviving and getting better.

When cancer spreads to your lymph nodes, it DOES NOT mean you have lymphoma. Lymphoma is a separate cancer that begins in your lymph nodes.

You had cervical cancer that metastasized to your lymph nodes . . you never had Lymphoma more commonly referred to as either Hodgkins or Non Hodgkins disease.. Lymphoma refers to lymph node CELLS that become malignant . . you had cervical cells that became malignant and traveled to the lymph nodes.
It is fairly common for cancer to metastasize through the blood system or the lymphatic system. What happens is that tumors reach a certain stage where they begin to seed or release malignant cells from the tumor . . those malignant cells spill into the blood stream and/or lymphatic system and can travel all over the body . . they than lodge in a distant location and start a new cancer colony far away from the original site. Often advanced cancers will metastasize to the lungs, liver, bones, or brain . . spreading . . but still the same type of cancer cell as the primary.

Your brother needs to become better educated about cancer. If you have cervical cancer that spread to lymph nodes it is still cervical cancer. Same with breast cancer. I had breast cancer with lymph node involvement

A cancer that spread to adjacent/other part of body is called metastasis
Lymphoma is a cancer of lymph, meaning.. when you see it under the microscope, you will see an abnormal/cancerous cell of lymph cell or a cancer cell with lymph cell characteristic.
To know whether that cancer in your lymph was a metastasized or a lymphoma, you will need to see it under the microscope, if it similar with the characteristic of cervical cancer cell, then it was a metastasized.
I remember your previous post, don?t forget to have a regular check up.

You had metastasized cervical cancer.
It does not matter where secondary cancers occur they are named for the primary cancer site, in your case cervical cancer.
It is only in the cases when the cancer occurs as a primary cancer in the lymph nodes that it is lymphoma.
Otherwise most of us who have been through cancer would be classed as having lymphoma which is not a common cancer.

well i would say it would be cervical cancer with lymph node metastases; it ain?t lymphoma.
from your own site.
