Background and Qualifications:

SHELADIA Associates is a multi-disciplinary international professional consulting firm with demonstrated experience in the successful management and implementation of development projects throughout the world. We are currently seeking an individual that is results-oriented, able to handle multiple tasks and deadlines and be a self-starter for the position of Human Resources Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for the management of the human resources and recruiting functions in Sheladia?s Home Office and International Field Offices. Key responsibilities include leading the company?s recruitment strategy to meet the business needs; establishing appropriate compensation levels for short and long-term personnel; coordinating negotiation of employment agreements with home office and long-term overseas personnel; maintenance of company benefits; coordination of business insurance renewals and industry certifications; overseeing the management and accuracy of HR systems; acting as employment compliance officer (EEO) for the company; ensuring employee inquiries are addressed; and establishing and maintaining appropriate HR policies for the company. Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Minimum of Bachelor?s degree preferably in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, or related field
  • A minimum of 3-years? experience in human resources management
  • Strong knowledge of Maryland and Federal labor regulations
  • Record of successful recruitment, human resources, and relationship management
  • Experience with handling corporate benefits
  • Experience with A/E Industry Certifications and Licensing for MBE, LDBE, DBE, SBA, SWAM, CCR/ORCA
  • Experience in business insurance renewal, including Professional Liability Insurance, General Liability Insurance, Defense Base Act (DBA) Insurance for USAID projects and Foreign Liability insurance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff, consultants, and clients
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work well under pressure, and work independently
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)
  • Familiarity within the international development field (including USAID, World Bank, US DoS)
  • Supervisory experience a plus
