The cell phone industry is booming, and it is expanding around the world. Companies like Nokia are expanding into that marketplace and Nokia may even post a potential profit of 2 Billion Dollars in 2010, time will tell. Does this mean if you are an investor that you should get in on all the action? Can you say Microsoft? Sure you can and they seem to make operating software for everything don?t they? Indeed, they do. In fact, they have some new software especially adapted for new smart technologies allowing these mobile devices to do much more than ever before. They have software ready to run on HTC, Samsung, Motorola, and RIM devices. So, don?t count Microsoft out just because Apple and Google seem to making waves in the smart phone space.
Microsoft Corp could just be the 8.8 Earthquake in the cell phone markets, which means things are not Chile ? rather they are heating up in personal tech. In fact, according to sources, Microsoft had only 8.8% of the smart phone market share prior to this latest and newest software. Who has the rest of the market?
Well, Symbian has the software running the guts in the Nokia product, Nokia of course has almost 50% of the smart cell phone market share currently. And Nokia which reported a 1.23 Billion Dollar profit in 2009 is under pressure for market share with Google and Apple hot on the trail. But let?s not forget all those future cell phone users in China and India. The pie is getting bigger and there is a lot to go around for everyone.
This is what Microsoft is banking on, along with Intel which has a new robust Smart Phone Chip out too. Needless to say, things are getting very interesting in the mobile cellphone space. Please consider all this.
