SCAA Seeking Marketing & Communications Interns | The Specialty ...

SCAA is seeking two qualified interns to assist the Marketing & Communications department. These positions offer flexible schedules and the opportunity to acquire skills in marketing, communications, and social media, as well as learn more about the specialty coffee industry by working with the largest specialty coffee trade organization in the world. Please note, these internships are unpaid positions.

Event Marketing Intern

The Event Marketing Internship position focuses on assisting the Marketing Department with ongoing communications as well as helping to build our existing social media strategy and presence online.? This position also includes participation in website updates and activities associated with our annual exposition.? Any student interested in coffee, international commodities, the food and beverage industry and social media marketing strategies is encouraged to apply.

Major Responsibilities Include:

  • Data integration for smartphone Event App (iOS & Android operating systems)
  • internet research to find compelling content for posting
  • Assistance with website content management as needed
  • Post event analysis:? surveys, data collection etc. if applicable
  • Assistance with scheduled communications such as newsletters and e-blasts
  • Department Organization: general updates as needed, data collection, archive

The ideal candidate will possess an intermediate knowledge and comfort level with social media & online platforms, strong writing skills, exceptional organizational skills and an energetic can-do attitude.

Intern would report to:? Event Marketing Manager

Position is not paid.? The SCAA is a non-profit entity so the position would be either on a volunteer basis or for credit, in conjunction with established University internship policies.

Communications & Content Intern

The Communications & Content Internship position focuses on assisting the Communications & Content Manager with ongoing electronic communications, developing mailing lists, as well as helping to build our existing social media strategy and presence online. Any student interested in coffee, international commodities, the food and beverage industry and social media marketing strategies is encouraged to apply.

Major Responsibilities Include:

  • Internet research to find compelling content for posting
  • Assistance with website content management as needed
  • Compilation and analysis of electronic communications statistics
  • Assistance with scheduled communications such as newsletters and e-blasts
  • Department Organization: general updates as needed, data collection, archive
  • List compilation and cleaning

The ideal candidate will possess an intermediate knowledge and comfort level with social media & online platforms, strong writing skills, exceptional organizational skills and an energetic can-do attitude.
