On this occasion, NIM's -Managing Director Nihad Zacharia explained that the All-New Kia Cerato Sedan 2014 represents the third generation of the Kia Cerato model. It has been designed to include a full host of innovative features. In line with the aspirations of Kia fans and new potential Kia payers, the new model combines attributes of elegance, quality, and strength in one. It responds to the demands of anyone wanting a luxurious yet stylish car.
He further added that he was proud to see NIM participating in the Dubai launch event. Its active presence stems from its aims to make all the latest models from Kia available and within the reach of its fans across the region. The test drive served to further unleash the new model's powerful engine, fuel consumption, its dynamism, alongside its notable ease of use and high safety levels on the road.
Although the All-New Cerato is lower than previous models, its ability to provide generous space for people and cargo has been significantly increases. Its floor is lower and the seat 'hip-points' have been dropped (by 26 mm front and 20 mm rear), passengers will find increased front headroom and legroom, while shoulder room is improved by 9 mm (front) and 5 mm (rear). The new model also boasts an elegant style, as it is 30 mm longer, 15 mm lower and 5 mm wider than previous models. Furthermore, it has a 50 mm extended wheelbase.
The new model was innovated in Kia's design center in California. Its fans will be offered a choice of two gasoline engines - Kia's 161 ps 2.0-liter Nu engine and the popular 130 ps 1.6-liter Gamma engine. Powered by the Nu MPI engine, the new Cerato with a manual gearbox accelerates to 100 kph (62 mph) in 8.5 seconds or 9.3 seconds (automatic) and attains a top speed of 210 kph (130 mph).
With Gamma power, the new model has a top speed of 200 kph (124 mph) and reaches 100 kph (62 mph) in 10.1 seconds (11.6 seconds, automatic). For manual models, combined cycle fuel consumption is 6.5 l/100 km. Its 50-liter fuel tank, allows drivers to enjoy a typical range of 650 km (400 miles) between fill-ups.
The interior design of All-New Cerato boasts a sporty feel with a nature inspired motif. The driver-focused cockpit places all the major and minor controls within easy-to-operate reach, while the sweeping curve of the center stack (from behind the instrument cluster around and down to the center console).
Additional features include; include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, LED rear light clusters and high level brake light, upgraded cloth upholstery, three-mode FlexSteer power steering and paddle shift for automatic models, plus front and rear parking sensors - as standard.
Fans can also enjoy a 10-way powered and ventilated driver's seat, heated front and rear seats, leather upholstery, powered glass tilt-and-slide sunroof, smart keyless entry with engine start/stop button, Xenon headlamps, Bluetooth? hands-free system with steering wheel-mounted remote controls, automatic windscreen de-fogging, plus manual and dual-zone climate control automatic air-conditioning.
